For about the past year I've been able to partner with Ballet Met and Opera Columbus and their amazing shows. I have to say that they always exceed my expectations greatly. It's amazing to see that a 1951 film that I grew up watching in the 90's is still making people happy today. I have to say "thats how you know you have a great story".

I remember as a little girl this was a movie that I watched many times on a cassette tape lol. Starting in a park in the movie with a woman (assumed to be her mother), but in the ballet with her sister and her father. Just like in the movie she sees the white rabbit and out of curiosity decides to follow. I remember in the movie she quoted " curiosity usually gets you into trouble" and how this is sometimes so very true lol !
As she followed the rabbit, she fell into a hole which leads her to Wonderland. How they were able to depict the fall was very cool because she still fell so graceful and you could see the world that she was falling into. Still following the rabbit she is lead to a place full of doors, where she has to choose one. The white rabbit that she was following ended up appearing and giving her a bottle that "said drink me" and then leaves her yet another time. It's cool because in the movie it's a door knob that leads her to drink from the bottle. I love to see plays and ballets that have movies and or books because not only do you have an insight to the story but you can see more and or see/hear the story in a different way.
After drinking, Alice becomes big, but too big to get through the doors. So the rabbit appears yet again with food labeled "eat me". As she eats this, she begins to get smaller again, but this time too small. So she has to find a way to use them both to return to her normal size. How frustrating this must have been. The door scene was also depicted perfectly. It was so cool to see how much detail Balletmet put into still making you feel like you were apart of that dreamy world.
