Galatians 6 Brothers, if someone is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual should restore such a person with a gentle spirit, watching out for yourselves so you also won’t be tempted.

I've watched many documentaries and movies on war. Especially since I've been married, I think that's one of the things about Josh (my husband) that has rubbed off on me. Previously, I was hesitant in watching them, because they are so close to real life, but those things really happened.

In watching them one of the hardest things to see is when someone was either hurt or murdered. However, one of the most honorable things that I've always seen is the way that soldiers will go and pick up their brothers or sisters when they are injured, or even dead. Even though they themselves are still fighting a battle, they still carry them to the end back to safety, or so their families can see their bodies.

In thinking about that, I thought about the church in general. There are so many people who started in God and church strong, and now they're gone. So many people who are falling away, losing hope and falling back into bad habits, discouraged and alone. Why? Sometimes being in church, working in church we can be so focused on "ministry", outside of church that we don't see the people in church who need our help. We put people in positions who are not ready for them, and sadly sometimes we care more about their gifts than their souls.

I wonder what God thinks about that. I never want to be the person who claimed they were working for God, but wasn't doing what he assigned me to do. As children of God we're all on the same team. It's our job to help each other, hold each other accountable and restore each other when we see someone falling. Just as these soldiers are trained we have to train ourselves in what we read everyday. We see people and we talk about them, tell them we'll pray for them, but what if you knew they didn't have much time. You would probably do more, I know I would. The Bible says faith without works is dead. Sometimes God will just call you to pray, but sometimes you have to do something.

Just because a soldier is shot, or a bomb busted doesn't mean that he has to die. You going and picking him or her up could be the only chance they have left. We and I say we, have to remember that this walk with Christ is serious. Peoples souls really are on the line every single day. As a church we have to get things right from the inside out. Pray for our leaders so that Gods Holy standards can be restored back into our churches. So that the spirit and power of God can truly move in such a way that we become effective again. We cannot be a people who are falling apart from the inside out, but we must be right and strong so that people who don't know Christ can be changed from the inside out! Make yourself available to God so that you are able to see and pray for those who might need your help.
