1 Samuel 3:10 " And the Lord came and stood and called as a other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered speak for thy servant heareth".

Have you ever had a moment where you said "something told me", or some people say they have deja vu. I don't typically say that, but I have had moments where I've felt like I've seen something or been somewhere before. Anyhow...I remember when I was younger, I wasn't really an outgoing person, and kept a lot of things inside. As I got older of course it's changed, and I don't say everything, but when it comes to issues or fixing and solving things, I usually have to say something.
This is exactly how I am in my relationship with God. I've had so many of those moments that I've described in the beginning of this text. There's been times when I've been really frustrated, like what if I would have listened or went by what I was feeling. I remember once before going to sleep and the Lord told me to pray about something, I didn't. When I woke up, what I should have prayed about and for happened. How many times has that happened to you? I thank God for grace because he knows even when we're not going to listen and he still gives us instructions. I have learned and am learning not to beat myself up about it, but to allow God to teach me.
When the Lord first called Samuel,, he didn't know it was God calling him, he thought it was Eli. After so many times, Eli told him that when he heard the voice again, to say "speak Lord for thy servant heareth". God said my sheep know my voice and I know them and they follow me. (John 10:27). So that brings the question are we his sheep? Do we allow him to lead us?, guide us?, Do we follow him? Do we depend on him? That's only a question that you can answer.
It's in those moments when I say something told me, that I realize that God was trying to show me something, but I was distracted, or was disobedient, or didn't position myself to be able to hear from him. I've written and you will see me write a lot that there is always so much that God wants to tell and show us. If you have a relationship with someone, there are certain things you will only know by spending time with them. Oh how e have need of Jesus. So many times we get in the way because we're excited about the things that God is doing in our lives. Whether we got a raise, new house, job , whatever. We have to always...daily...give those things and ourselves back to God, because we live in this human body that doesn't desire to please him.
If you've been that person that's missed and opportunity to be obedient, don't condemn yourself, repent, God has already forgiven you. I encourage you to remember to daily allow him to examine you and fill you with himself through prayer, fasting, reading his word and hearing from him. Just as Samuel did, when you have those moments, just say what Samuel did "speak Lord thy servant heareth". Sometimes this is just God training you as he did Samuel to know his voice and how he speaks to you. Don't be frustrated, be encouraged, because you have a great journey ahead of you!
Having moments like this has also helped me realize that I can't afford to miss anything that God wants to show me, tell me and I don't want to. I challenge you to daily set aside that time
