Psalm 46:10

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

To be still, to not move. I remember as a child just okaying this game, or the quiet game was really hard for me. It's like sometimes when people tell you that you can't do something, it makes it that much harder not to.

Sometimes we pray for things to happen, and we don't see them right away because we live "in time" and we forget that we serve a God that lives in eternity. It can be easy for some to give up, or get discouraged because of not seeing the results of prayers immediately. Sometimes we can get so overwhelmed that we no longer see the request or situation from Gods perspective. In this text it says to ....

1. Be still.

2. Know that he is God.

What does Gods word say that he is?

1. Alpha and Omega (beginning and the end)

2. Your peace (Psalm 29:11)

3. Your strength (Nehemiah 8:10)

4. Our defender (Psalm 18:1)

5. Our confidence (Philippians 1:6)

These are just some of the things that God is for us. We have to daily remember that "he is" whatever he is to you. God said that his word is life, and it's very important that we daily feed ourselves with his word and hide it in our hearts so that we can use it during these times.

We have to remember that the Bible says that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood. A lot of times that is our downfall because we try to fight spiritual battles in our fleshly emotions. Keep your flesh out of it. The Bible talks a lot about walking in and being lead by Gods spirit for many different reasons.

So in your devotion time, while you're driving, wherever, think about where you are, what you're praying for. Have you become a hinderance? Are you tired? Have you started trying to do what God said he would do on your behalf? STOP! Give it back to him, trust him, even if you have to say it until you do. Remember that he works things in his time. Be patient, and know that God, your father, he's got you!
