“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.”
Psalms 19:14
Being a “Christian” , a lot of times we can ourselves live a morally good lifestyle. Going to church, not drinking, not smoking, not cursing and even giving and serving. But inwardly were bitter, angry, rude, and everything that Jesus isn’t . The Bible says that “man looks at the outward appearance , but God looks at the heart”. What does yours look like ? What are you holding onto? What have you not let go of? It’s something for us to always think about. We serve this amazing God who day to day desires us to come to him and give him everything so that he can fill us with himself and his love. But at times we seem to only want and not want to give of ourself. There’s another text that says “I’m him we live, move and have our being”. But sometimes for us it’s “ in our flesh we live, we try to move in him and our beings all confused”. Why ? Because our hearts are filled with everything but him . The Bible says “out of the abundance of our heart, we speak “, “out of our heart flows the issues of life “. As people in general sometimes we talk about how strong we are in our beliefs and how real we are, but the question is are we? We’ve been in and are always in a time where we have to decide do we really want to serve God? Do we want to do everything that he’s called us to do ? (This greater works he promised). Do we want to give him 100% access to our lives? The answer should be yes. God gave you one life and time is something that you can’t take back but can be redeemed . Some people unfortunately will die in religion , never having a personal intimate relationship with Jesus . He promised that if you seek him , you’ll find him. That if you draw to him , he will draw to you . Being a Christian doesn’t have to be boring , because there’s no way we can see and know all of God even in a lifetime . But we can know more , we can experience more and we can do more . Take it Day by day, remember that everything you have and are is because God allowed it and or made a way for it . He doesn’t require something that you do not have . Remember he sees your heart. You can’t fake being his child because who he is goes beyond living a “morally good” lifestyle. As humans God gave us a will to be able to live beyond what we feel or think. Even if you don’t feel it in your prayer time or even when you’re out driving , walking or whatever , ask God to help you . Let what you say and what you meditate on be acceptable to him . He’s your lord , your strength and your redeemer . Remembering that you are the temple of God make conscious decisions in what you watch , listen to , talk about . Not because it’s “not nice, or wrong”, but because it grieves your Heavenly Father and pollutes your temple. That doesn’t mean that you won’t mess up or fall short at times, but the closer you get to him and more time you spend with him you become like him (the image of Christ). David said how can a young man cleanse his way ? By taking heed according to the word. So make your decision to let what you say and what you meditate on become acceptable in the sight of God, remember he’s living inside of you .
