I had a plan!

Proverbs 16:9

A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

When I was a little girl, I used to picture what my marriage would be like, how I wanted it to be, who I would marry lol. I had it all planned out. Who was I then? A Young girl who had no idea who she really was. As stated in a previous blog post, I wanted to be like what I saw on TV, or what was trending. As I got older however, I'd say closer to my senior year of high school, I really started to find out more about me. As cliche as it might sound, I always say without Christ I have no identity, I would have just been someone conforming to the world around me. So many times we forget that we did not create ourselves, and the only way to find out more about "us" and our purpose and function is from our creator! Not only does he tell us in his word, but as we spend time with him, he gives us desires in accordance with his will.

I had a type, height and more that I had chosen for who I was going to marry. It’s funny because everything ended up completely different ! There’s nothing wrong with having an idea, but remember who you are is not who you will be in the future . You need someone who can not just compliment who you are now, but can be apart of who you will become and challenge you to be better. Remember ladies, the bible says "he that findeth a wife", so stop looking, relax. Give God time to tailor you for your husband. Your job is to be focused on God.

Had I went after and accepted my original desires and plan I would be so miserable right now. Of course no one can tell you what to do. God even gives us a choice, but he promised that his Holy Spirit would lead us and guide us into all truth. So ask him for guidance when making decisions as far as your relationships, he's always there waiting to hear from you!
