Night Time Reflections

Sitting here in the bed listening to a song that I loved in my late teenage years. It's a song called Rooftops by Kim Walker-Smith. It says "So I shout out your name from the rooftops I proclaim that I am yours. All that I am, I place into your loving hands and I am yours".
It not only makes me think back to this time. A time when I was very zealous, had no cares, no worries or responsibilities. Just lived my life and couldn't wait to get home to spend time with Jesus. I remember sometimes when my dad would play worship music in the car I felt the holy spirit so strong and could not wait to get home to pray. I would be on my room for hours, sometimes falling asleep on the floor. I'm almost crying writing this because the only way to describe it is looking back on memories you had with someone very close to you.
I write this not saying that I have drifted from God, but every single day is a day of repentance and re-examination. I've been blessed to have an amazing job, became a wife , and am involved a lot with my church which I love. However, with the more we are given, the more we are responsible and held accountable for. Every single thing that we do whether it's writing, speaking, singing, or just our life in general has to come from a place of purity and a place of prayer. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in knowing that we have to spend time with God in order for him to move that we don't enjoy it. It becomes robotic and religious practice. No relationship should be this way. Going through the motions.
You see God loves us so much, that even before we were born he knew us ( Jeremiah 29:11), and loved us so much that scripture says that Jesus was slain before the foundation of the world. (Revelation 13:8). The relationship that he desires from us isn't just oneway, but mutual. Our earthly marriages are so similar to our relationship with Jesus and if we love him first as he instructs us, we can love our neighbors with the real love of Christ. Not what we think love is, not conditionally, but beyond faults, beyond remembering wrongs, beyond frustration and whatever else it may be. You see scripture says that he remembers our sins no more. A lot of problems we have are because we don't let things go even when we say we do.
You see every single day that we wake up is another day, another time, another moment that he desires to spend time with us, reveal himself and his word, strengthen us and more. So as I go back to the song I mentioned earlier I thank God for even though my life has changed, restoring to me greater with the wisdom and knowledge I have now, that same zeal. That same excitement, that same closeness and I pray the same for you. Just as a clear glass reflects the water that comes out of it, I desire nothing else but that my life be a reflection of Jesus in the earth.

We had a saying in high school" Watch your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions and your actions become your habits. It starts with your thoughts. So Lord I pray for every person reading this that if they don't know you that they will so great! For those who do know you but need a refreshing, some more dates with you to restore the beautiful marriage they've committed to with you that you would hear them. I pray for a surrendered humble heart that is not afraid to admit when wrong. I pray that you would restore the joy of serving you. You bless us and cover us even when we don't deserve it because you love us so much. So let us as we continue to spend time with you be able to give that love 100%. Let us walk with boldness as children of God with hearts that melt as just the thought of you. You are so so good, and your mercy not only endures forever, but is new every single morning. There is no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus, but forgiveness of sins. We thank you! In Jesus name Amen!
