Perception

I remember as a little girl learning about the life of Jesus before and after the resurrection. We learned about him as a child, some of his miracles and how he died for our sins. As a child I don't exactly remember my whole perception on the cross, I just remember being grateful and sad whenever we watched a video about it.

As a young teen, my church took us to see the "Passion of the Christ". The older you get, the more your perception of things changes. This movie for me at that time was so realistic. I watched as Jesus was beaten and crucified, and the graphics were very detailed. I have never cried like that in a movie theater before. Not only was I crying because I was grateful that went through this for me, but I was crying because I was watching another human being suffering. Jesus was God in the flesh, but he was still a human being. He still had feelings, pain still hurt him just as much as it would anyone. Just think about that for a moment.

He came knowing that he was going to suffer and die. Why? because he loves each and every one of us, and because of mans sin in the beginning, we needed a way back to him. We needed a way to be able to come to him without having to go through another human being. We needed a way for his spirit to be able to come and live on the inside of us. We needed authority, power that could only be activated through his death, burial and resurrection. We needed security for eternity.
