Perfect Peace

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. 4 Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength:

Ahhh....Perfect peace. No worries, no cares, just knowing that everything is taken care of. Have you ever thought? Sometimes we create our own sense of "false perfect peace" and don't even realize it. We have our jobs, homes, cars, savings and more. While all of these things are good and provide, the source of provision is really where our peace comes from.

You see, if you consider yourself the source of everything that you are and have, then what happens when you fail, or when you get tired? You seek to draw strength or resources from somewhere else. The amazing thing about God is he not only is our source, but he doesn't get tired, he doesn't get weary and he's always reliable. He doesn't have to seek from another source because he is the power himself.

Especially for times he's not only given us his Holy Spirit that lives in us, but power through his Holy Spirit to make the decision to keep our minds stayed upon him. I love how the scripture above said that he is an everlasting strength. That means his strength never ever runs out. Strength to keep going, strength to keep our minds stayed upon him and his word. If there wasn't a such thing as perfect peace he would not have said it.

Perfect peace does not mean things will not be or continue to be crazy around us. But it means that in the midst of it we don't worry, because we ultimately know who is in control.
