Reflecting is good!

Colossians 1:16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created by Him and for Him.

Often times, it's good to sit back and reflect. Reflect on where I am in life. God has blessed us all with many different gifts and talents, and even given us plans and dreams to go along with those things. Sometimes, however I think that we forget about him in the process, We all have been gifted with many different things. Some singers, dancers, writers, teachers, lawyers, you name it. 9 times out of 10 if you're gifted in it, you love it. I don't think anyone just does what they love for no reason. In walking out whatever dream that God gave you concerning your gift, you started for a reason and with a purpose. What was that reason? and are you still serving that purpose? Does God still get glory out of what you say you're doing for him? I started blogging because I love Jesus and I love fashion. I thought what better way than to combine the two and daily show people a glimpse of how I'm being fashioned inside and out. With anything it can be so easy to get wrapped up it compliments of people, image, likes, worldly standards and more. But at the end of the day none of that matters. All that matters is, am I pleasing God. Regardless of what we say with our mouth, he looks at our heart, and that we can't hide from him.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to be better, grow and increase your knowledge of things, but as I stated in a previous blog, we cannot forget about God. We can't do something for someone that we don't take time to get to know on a daily basis, because then you run out of ideas. You run out of motivation, and you run out of power.

We have to remember that before there was anything, there was God. We were made by him and for him. We need him, even if we chose not to want him, so why not just surrender?

I realize that all that I am, and all that I have is because of him and I need him to do the things that he's called me to. Life isn't about fame or being known, because that can all be taken away so quickly, it's about are we living like Jesus and telling others about him through the way that we live. Regardless of how hard we try, because we live in these early bodies called "flesh" if we do not daily live a life with Christ we naturally will fall into things that aren't pleasing to him. That's not to say we'd go out drinking and partying, but just the simple things like putting more time into television, sports or social media, than spending time with him.

If you don't get anything out of this, get this......... We were made by God and for God. The only way to rightly do for God is to know him and the only way to know him is to spend time with him. God is far beyond our emotions, so take some time outside of your comfort zone to get to know him so he can show you who you really are :)
