Remind Yourself!

2 Peter 2:3-9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Sometimes we have to close our eyes and remind ourselves of who God is and who he says we are! He doesn't slack concerning his promises and we cannot slack in believing them. God said that we are heirs of him and joint heirs with Christ. On a daily basis we have to not only discipline ourselves in prayer and spending time with God, but allowing him to speak to us too!

So many times we have an agenda for God because we're "too busy". If you have a spouse or someone you're dating, even though you don't talk to them all day everyday, you're still in communication with them, you still make an effort to establish and build a relationship with them. When one person stops, the relationship begins to weaken.

The thing about God is he never stops and if our relationship with him weakens, it's because we're not making the effort. He's omnipresent (everywhere) so we don't have to worry about not being able to talk to him. As followers of Jesus and even if you're reading this and are not one as of yet, serving and living for God "being a Christian" isn't just a inspirational encouragement in life that makes you feel good on Sunday. Jesus is REAL and his word, knowing that he died, was raised, conquered this life and has heaven waiting for you is what changes your soul. All I can say is try him. We try new things all of the time, and you have nothing to loose.

I would never want to say that I believe in something and not put my all into it. I encourage you this morning to allow God to examine you, take that time. You can call him yours, but can he call you his? Does he have all of you? Before we take a look at others, we have to allow him to take a look at us!

You can't have and extension cord that's not connected and expect it to work. When it comes to Gods promises, his word, who he is and who he says we are, make sure that you are able to remind yourself. Don't be the reason his word hasn't come to pass in your life. Position yourself to be able to receive those promises by remaining his child. Don't loose the authority that you have to daily speak those promises because you choose not to obey his word.

As stated in the text above, he doesn't desire for you to perish, but repent. You have to make the decision. He's a loving and forgiving God, but he's a holy and judging God as well. He loves you and because he's so holy, he needs us to be as well so that we can experience everything that he has for us. Have an amazing day !
