Matthew 11: 28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
Have you ever heard the saying sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride? I remember as a little girl my parents always took us to amusement parks. Every big ride that I tried I was so scared, but because my dad was riding too, it made me less afraid. You see he had not only ridden some of these rides before, but had experience with the ones he didn't ride. Right before we would take off sometimes they would say "sit back, relax and enjoy the ride".

Often times Jesus is telling us the same things. You see, sometimes I would get to the parks, see those big rides, drops, turns, flips and more and it made me afraid. I was so afraid at times that I would ask my family and the workers to double check my seatbelt, even though I knew it was secured. It made me even more anxious having to wait in line, watch people go on and then people behind me talk about how scary it was. The same people would also talk about how amazing it was at the same time. They would encourage me and tell me what to do to make the experience more enjoyable.
Part of the reason I think I was afraid as well, is because I watched so many scary movies of bad things happening. This is why it's so important to daily feed your mind and spirit with not only good things, but Gods word. It's in moments like these just like your natural body that Gods spirit in you can work on your behalf.
In this ride of life God has us on our emotions can be all over the place. Mainly because of what we see, other peoples experiences, how we daily live our lives, and what we know logically. While emotions are a beautiful thing, God want us to live more on the truth of his word. You see I found comfort in going on the rides, because my father had already ridden them, I knew there was an ending, everything would be secure and that he was going with me.
It's the same with Jesus. There is a ride, but everything that we're going through, he knows, we have the security of his word, there will be an ending, and he is with us. So amazing, right? Just as the people encouraged me, there are some things that only experience can teach you. There is so much more to the circumstance than your worries and fears. Riding those rides, I could see parts of the parks I could never have seen from the ground, and the more that I did it , it became more enjoyable than scary. So the next time that you find yourself getting anxious "sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride".
