Isaiah 64:8 8 Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.
Hey Guys,
I recently received this amazing sweatshirt from liveivyco and wanted to share it with you because it has such a simple but powerful message.
Have you ever watched an artist paint, or a sculptor create his or her masterpiece? They take their time, they're patient in their process, they pay attention to every single detail of whatever it is they are creating. They don't rush because they know that in the end it will be worth it. Even when people may pass by greatly acknowledging their work, they still most times will not be finished until in their eyes the work is perfected. That is the reason that I believe so many people have created such great work.
Now let's take these same thoughts and apply it to God and us! We are the clay and he is the potter. When God made us he thought about the very details of what we would look like (Luke 12:7), how long or short our hair would be, our height, our complexion and so much more. Sometimes we may have felt or feel insecure about some things like image or maybe even personality. The crazy thing is, while I love fashion and grooming myself, these are sometimes things that produce feelings of insecurity in others. But... I have a question for you. What if you had an item you thought very little of, then you found out it was worth so much more than you thought? You would want to know where it came from, who created it and what it was that made it so valuable! I know that I would.
The amazing this is that when it comes to us as individuals we get this opportunity every single day whether we see it or not. In (Genesis 1:27) The bible talks about how we were created in the image of God. The same book also states that everything that God made is and was good. Hey!, that's you and me too! Whenever something new comes out, what makes people attracted to it is the fact that it's different than other things. Yes some might be similar, but there's always a difference, and uniqueness about it.
When I think about myself I was a young girl very insecure. You've probably seen me write it in other posts. I wanted to be like everyone else. It wasn't until I decided to give my life to Christ that I personally really started to find out who I am, why I'm here and so much more. I always say that with him as the foundation everything else that comes out of that foundation is sure to grow and prosper. I criticized the way that I looked, sang, my hair, complexion, quietness and more. Now however, I know that those are all things that make me an ORIGINAL. I had to learn me, and learn to allow God to develop and grow those places that I thought were weaknesses. I thought that being quiet was a bad thing until I realized how observant I am and how God uses that in different ways. I thought that me not being as perfect in singing as I thought was the end of the world. Not knowing that God gives us gifts but also the ability to grow and perfect them.
There are many more things that I could name, but you get the point. We are all originals created by God, for God and in his image. That makes us amazing! In the beginning I stated that sometimes people may pass by an artist or sculptor acknowledging their work, not knowing that it isn't complete. That is the same with you and me. We were all created for a purpose. People may see you, you may even see yourself and think that's it. This is all that I'm here for whatever that may be. However, that can't be it because you're still here. As long as you're still here there's still purpose in you. So I want to encourage you today if you haven't already think about yourself. Even write down some of your qualities you have. Some you like and some you don't. Here's a quick prayer.......
Dear God,
Thank you for loving me even I don't love everything about myself. Thank you for seeing the good in me, even when I am unable to see it. Help me to see myself the way that you see me as an original, a masterpiece, perfectly made by and for you. Teach me about the qualities that you've given me and help me to embrace and grow in them. In Jesus name Amen!
